Lineapelle
One of the most important international trade fairs for leather, accessories, and components.
Lineapelle: metal accessories shine. The sector accelerates through sustainability, design, and new technologies.
Milan – At the latest edition of Lineapelle—the premier international trade fair for fashion and luxury materials—the spotlight shone brightly on the metal accessories sector for leather goods, a field currently experiencing a phase of significant innovation and growth. From buckles, snap hooks, and studs to chains and technical hardware, exhibitors demonstrated a clear leap in quality, driven by two key concepts: sustainability and aesthetic research.
Many companies showcased lines made from recycled alloys, utilizing low-impact finishing processes and heavy-metal-free galvanic treatments. This direction addresses the increasingly urgent demands of brands, which are required to ensure transparency throughout the entire supply chain.
In terms of design, the trends are dominated by ultra-glossy surfaces, three-dimensional textures, and special colorations—ranging from nickel-free tones and vintage effects to satin finishes and custom galvanic treatments. There is also a strong focus on functionality, featuring next-generation magnetic systems, high-strength miniaturized closures, and modular components designed for handbags, small leather goods, and footwear.
Exhibitor sentiment is positive: the metal accessories segment confirms its role as a strategic element for fashion product differentiation, thanks to its ability to combine aesthetics, technology, and durability. Lineapelle thus reaffirms its status not only as an international showcase but also as a barometer for the trends that will shape upcoming collections.
